Inspired by Rey's love of Art Deco architecture in his homeland of Cuba. This work features the elegant stepped forms, sweeping curves and layered shapes of Art Deco, old American cars and the colors of Cuban tropical splendor.
Coppelia references the world famous Cuban ice cream parlor in Havana. Its flying-saucer-shaped building represents a UFO that has landed in Havana. It is one of the largest ice cream parlors in the world and most beloved buildings in the Cuban capital.
